Junior Production Artist/Web Designer

Job Overview:

The CCMC Sports Group, home to SCOREGolf and partners with the CHL, NHL, and CFL, is looking to immediately expand their art department by filling their new position of Junior Production Artist Web Designer. We are looking for a driven, passionate and junior graphic designer who has aspirations to develop into a design leader working with our production teams to produce our website and magazine products.

Your duties would include conceptual design, layout, assembly, and revision of a number of multimedia projects.

Location: Toronto

In this position you will be expected to:

  • Work in concert with the product production teams with the responsibility to conceptualize and develop:
    • The page layout, assembly and revisions to both magazine and website projects.
    • The user interfaces for our content and light software application based website experiences. 
    • The creation of promotional materials including print and online display advertisements, posters, rate cards and other promotional collateral. 
  • Be a strong communicator of ideas and passionate about the role of good design ensuring all the design aspects of a project’s objectives and requirements are met 
  • Be able to effectively manage your time and are not phased by working on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
  • Work in Quark, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to retouch photos and preparing print ready graphics.
  • Work in website design tools like Dreamweaver or Visual Studio to layout webpages, manipulate photos and graphic imagery to present online content in a visually stimulating way.

Essential Skills and Qualifications: 

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Magazine print production/finishing techniques
  • Knowledge of web design, CSS 3.0, XHTML and XML mark-up and FLASH
  • Knowledge of latest Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat, Dreamweaver and all MS Office Applications
  • Experience working in a small to medium size design studio and therefore can work equally well on a team and/or as an independent self starter who can run with projects with minimal direction.
  • Must be proficient in Mac OSX
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Good eye for design and strong attention to detail
  • Open to ideas and takes feedback/direction easily

Skills and Qualifications which are beneficial but not required: 

  • Understanding the use of FLASH technology and the principles of animation
  • Experience working with Audio and Video content
  • Experience working with Mobile centric interfaces (i.e Cell phones)
